Phetetso Monese – Lithuteng Cycling Club
Not only is Phetetso the Lesotho XCO and XCM champion but he completed the first Lesotho Sky in style. Although losing his partner on the second day he continued to impress everyone. This year things looked much brighter for Phetetso and his partner Jonase. Phetetso started off cycling and competing in his first races with a 3-speed delivery bike. He even won a race on it and still keeps the gold medal. Since then with an equipment upgrade he is one of Lesotho fastest Elite riders. Jonase and Phetetso came 3rd overall in this years Lesotho Sky Event.

Jonase cycles for the Lithabaneng Cycling club in Maseru. Cool and focused Jonase gives off a vibe at the start line that leaves you shivering in your cycling boots. Having started cycling in 2007 he has progressed in leaps and is bound to become one of Lesotho’s finest cyclists. The plans for his first Lesotho Sky 2012 are to race well and win. Congratulations to Team Standard Bank for being the fasted team from Lesotho and for achieving an impressive 3rd place overall.

In 1995 Standard Lesotho Bank Lesotho took over the operations of Barclays Bank DCO who had first opened in Maseru in 1957
Lesotho Bank (1999) was formed from 02 August 1999 to privatize the previously Government owned Lesotho Bank. The formation of Standard Lesotho Bank has resulted in us being closer to our customers around the country. We operate in all 10 districts of Lesotho but our head office in Maseru. It has also enabled us to improve on what we offer our customers in the various market we serve.
